Description

Instrument systems and the infrastructure to collect and transfer data are constantly evolving. In order to continue providing a high level of support, the ARM Site Data System (SDS) group must constantly grow and improve. This involves testing and deploying complex solutions to meet a variety of needs. The SDS group is responsible for ensuring successful data collections and data flow to the ARM Data Management Facility (DMF) and managing all of the systems and network infrastructure. To do this, SDS provides the following services: ·Rapid deployment of instrument systems and data systems in a virtualized environment while meeting DOE cyber security requirements ·Daily tracking of data collections and ensuring data flow ·Coordinate resolution of data collection/flow issues with mentors and the DMF ·Software installation and updates ·Ensure the protection of ARM data and infrastructure ·Assistance setting up infrastructure for mobile facility deployments An overview of these functions with the goal of enlightening those in the program on the role of SDS, and increasing integration, will be presented.
