Description

The Portable Radiation Package (PRP) was deployed for the ARM MAGIC field campaign and provided quality measurements of shortwave and longwave downwelling radiation in the moving, obstructed shipboard environment. The PRP consisted of a PSP-PIR (RAD) system and a SPN1 broadband total-diffuse shortwaves sensor on both the port and starboard sides of the ship and a Fast-Rotating Shadowband Radiometer (FRSR) for narrowband direct beam solar irradiance. The poster describes available data, overall quality, and validation from intercomparisons with the NOAA observatory in Boulder, CO and with the NASA Microtops MAN observations.
