Description

A new ARM website launched December 27, 2016.

Nearly two years in the making, a redesigned ARM website launched at the end of December, 2016. To ensure the new website hit the mark, a two-day workshop was held at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in February, 2015 with a multi-lab team to identify the audience and requirements for the site. The design and development team conducted internal and external surveys, coordinated a usability study with the University of Tennessee on the old site and a strawman design, and applied extensive analysis on the current site architecture and Google analytics to determine how it was being used.

To address identified needs:

  • Top navigation was reduced from ten tabs to five.
  • Web content was rewritten for browsing and skimming.
  • Tools and information were presented in searchable pages.
  • A new search capability was created that sorts by relevance and latest content.
  • A new campaign landing page was developed, and an easier-to-use proposal form was designed.
  • A new footer navigation was developed to provide users with information they may want to access from any page on the site.

A follow up usability study of the new site before the site launch showed an 89 percent success rate in potential new ARM users successfully navigating the site to find pertinent tools, information, and support. Stop by this poster to learn about new features and share your feedback.
