Aerosol-Cloud-Radiation Interactions

Description

A deep convective and a stratocumulus cloud cases observed during the AMF-China campaign are simulated using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model with size-resolved cloud microphysics. Model results are being compared with satellite, surface radar, and rain-gauge measurements. Model simulations and sensitivity experiments are being analyzed to study aerosol effects on cloud properties and surface precipitation associated with onset time and spatial redistribution and their potential implications to weather and climate in China.
