Climate Adaptation Scientist

1 January 1970 - 1 January 1970

Berkeley Lab’s Climate & Ecosystems Division has an opening for a Climate Adaptation Scientist.  The Climate and Ecosystem Sciences Division (CESD) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) invites applications for a Career-Track Scientist to expand the division’s expertise in participatory research methods and the use of scientific information for climate adaptation decision-making.  The successful candidate will blend social science and Earth science approaches to understand factors that lead to the effective application of climate information to guide climate adaptation decisions in the water, energy, and/or land-use sectors.  A key component of this research will involve engagement with stakeholders to understand their decision contexts as well as the translation of these insights into scientific questions and hypotheses. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team in CESD. Berkeley Lab is a renowned center of scientific expertise in many facets of climate-related fundamental and applied science.
