Earth Scientist- Atmospheric Dispersion and Air Quality Modeling

The Risk and Environmental Assessment Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking an atmospheric scientist/engineer with a working familiarity and demonstrated competencies in the field(s) of atmospheric release, dispersion, and transport of radionuclides; environmental monitoring and characterization; and translation of modeled and/or process simulation results to a variety of applications across a range of sources and sinks (e.g., air, water, and soil).

Given the potential range of diversified knowledge and experience this position may include, the successful candidate is anticipated, but not required, to have experience and interests in one or more of the following areas including applied meteorology, atmospheric and meteorological modeling platforms, radionuclide and health physics principles, scientific programming languages (e.g., MatLab, Fortran, Java, Python), and application of codes and models used in support of regulatory compliance.
