Computational Earth Science Postdoctoral Researcher

1 January 1970 - 1 January 1970

The Computational Earth Science Group (EES-16) in the Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate who will work primarily on projects in pipeline infrastructure design, CO 2 capture, utilization and storage (CCUS). The work will be a combination of developing new computational capabilities as well as applying newly developed and existing computational tools. The successful candidates will join the Subsurface Flow and Transport team of EES-16 and will collaborate with scientists in the group as well as with other LANL groups and with external industrial and academic partners. The postdoctoral research will focus on development of computational techniques with applications to challenging real-world problems primarily related to CCUS but potentially to energy production, climate change and environmental contamination management. You will be expected to publish results in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present your work at conferences. The term of the appointment is two (2) years, with the option to extend to a third year depending on performance and funding availability.
