The ICAM 2023 Plenary Sessions will be held as a hybrid event in St. Gallen, Switzerland, from 19 to 23 June 2023. The Plenary Sessions will feature 24’+6’ invited talks, 12’+3’ oral presentations as well as very short oral poster pitches and will be broadcasted over zoom with the possibility to ask questions for participants on-site as well as on-line. The fully on-line Poster Sessions on gather.town will take place on Tuesday 27 June 2023 (note that gather.town will also be available during the week of the hybrid event in St. Gallen to allow for spontaneous in-person poster discussions following the poster pitches).

Papers are invited on all aspects of mountain weather and climate, including but not limited to

  • Dynamics of dry and moist orographically forced airflow

  • Boundary layer processes over complex terrain

  • Orographic clouds and precipitation

  • Mountain climates and impacts of global warming

  • Meteorological processes affecting air quality, water resources, renewable energy harvesting, ecosystems, urban environment, and infrastructures

  • Numerical weather prediction over complex terrain (incl. data assimilation and predictability studies)

  • Challenges in weather forecasting in mountainous areas

  • Recent and future field campaigns

The Plenary Sessions (oral presentations) will be held at the Conference Hotel Einstein. ICAM 2023 is jointly organised by the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss and the ETH Zurich.
