Description

This poster presents theoretical work on turbulence closures for cloud-resolving models. The closures involve assumed probability density functions (PDFs). We show that the third moments are key to determining the shape of the assumed PDFs. Results from large-eddy simulations are used to illustrate this point. We also outline a new approach to parameterization using assumed PDFs.
