Assistant Professor – Hydroclimate Modeling

The University of Wyoming (UW) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position having a research focus on hydroclimate modelling. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong record of publications and promise of external funding success in the area of cloud and precipitation modeling. The position is one of five faculty positions that will form the core of the new Laboratory for Regional Earth Systems Modeling, an interdisciplinary center focused on water availability in the interior western United States climate-driven disturbances. The Lab will be created as part of WyACT (Wyoming Anticipating Climate Transitions). This position offers tremendous opportunities to strengthen collaborations with the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and to leverage Wyoming’s privileged access to the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputer Facility.
