Assistant Professor – Airborne Observations

The University of Wyoming (UW) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Atmospheric Science who will contribute towards our excellence in observational atmospheric science. The ideal candidate will develop a nationally-recognized research program and leverage a key facility in the department, the University of Wyoming King Air (UWKA) atmospheric research aircraft.

The successful candidate is expected to have a strong record of publication and promise of external funding in areas that will advance research related to the aircraft program. All areas relevant to airborne atmospheric science will be considered, with special consideration given to candidates focusing on remote sensing, boundary-layer dynamics, and airborne instrument development. Note, previous airborne research experience is not a requirement. We welcome applications from those who plan to use airborne measurements to support or validate models or remotely sensed data, as long as airborne measurements represent a significant component of the science.
