ARM Soil and Flux Associate Mentor

Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne) is seeking an atmospheric scientist with a background and interest in sub-surface and near-surface measurements and processes to work alongside instrument experts for the Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility (https://www.arm.gov).

ARM operates a network of six atmospheric observatories with over 450 instruments deployed and over 3 petabytes of data collected so far, dating back to 1993.  For each type of instrument, ARM employs an Instrument Mentor as the expert to oversee instrument operations and ensure that high quality datasets are available to ARM users.  Lead mentors for the Soil Temperature and Moisture Profile system (https://arm.gov/capabilities/instruments/stamp), Eddy Correlation Flux Measurement System (https://arm.gov/capabilities/instruments/ecor), Surface Energy Balance System (https://arm.gov/capabilities/instruments/sebs), Energy Balance Bowen Ratio (EBBR) System (https://www.arm.gov/capabilities/instruments/ebbr) and more reside at Argonne.
