DOE Seeks Two Modeling Program Managers

The U.S. Department of Energy is seeking applicants for two physical scientists to act as program managers for its climate modeling programs—Regional and Global Climate Modeling Program and the Earth System Modeling Program. Successful candidates must have appropriate experience and/or education in physical science, engineering, or mathematics, including one year of experience performing duties in the area of climate change, climate prediction, and numerical simulation for climate.
These positions are full-time permanent status and reside in Germantown, Maryland. As a program manager, these positions will determine scientific focus and direction of their respective research programs; establish the goals and objectives and ascertain the research needs and opportunities of the overall DOE research program in climate dynamics, climate change and computational science; and evaluate contractor, DOE laboratory, other government laboratory, and grantee research proposals and performance.
