Description

ARMs primary mission is to “provide the climate research community with strategically located in situ and remote-sensing observatories designed to improve the understanding and representation, in climate and earth system models, of clouds and aerosols as well as their interactions and coupling with the Earth’s surface.” In order to accomplish its mission and meet user needs, each year the ARM facility reviews current activities and plans, and prioritizes future facility development. Input from scientific users is an important element of this process. Priorities are determined by reviewing input from the science community through workshops, principal investigator meetings, instrument focus groups, and constituent groups, which is aligned with ARM's vision as described in the ARM Decadal Vision. This poster will present ARM's process for prioritizing facility development, describe current high-priority activities, and inform science users how they can get involved.
