Senior Applied Climate Scientist

1 January 1970 - 1 January 1970

The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking individuals to both strengthen and develop new capabilities human-Earth system interactions and predictability. Successful candidates will join a group with extensive expertise in developing models that represent both natural systems (e.g., hydrology) and human systems (e.g., energy and water infrastructure) that are used to characterize human-Earth system behavior and their complex interactions with specific ability to apply this research at operations and decision scales. We specifically seek candidates with modeling and simulation expertise in topics such as water resources, land-use change, water and energy security, and human system resilience. Preferred candidates will have experience in these topics in the context of applied climate projects, such as climate impact assessment and evaluation of adaptation and mitigation strategies, including decarbonization strategies, in human-Earth systems at a range of spatial and temporal scales.
